Job Title: Assistant Construction Superintendent
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Construction Superintendent to support our construction projects under the guidance of experienced superintendents. The ideal candidate will assist in managing day-to-day construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Responsibilities:
1. On-Site Coordination and Supervision:
* Assist the construction superintendent in coordinating and supervising on-site construction activities, including subcontractor management, material deliveries, and work progress.
* Ensure that construction work is executed according to project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
2. Quality Control and Assurance:
* Conduct regular inspections of workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
* Assist in addressing any issues or deficiencies promptly to maintain quality throughout the construction process.
3. Safety Compliance:
* Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures on the construction site to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
* Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to enhance safety awareness and compliance.
4. Project Documentation:
* Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and safety records.
* Support the superintendent in preparing and maintaining as-built drawings, project schedules, and other project documentation as needed.
5. Communication and Coordination:
* Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to coordinate work activities and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise.
* Assist in conducting regular meetings with project teams to review project progress, discuss upcoming tasks, and address any concerns.
6. Problem-Solving and Decision Making:
* Collaborate with the construction superintendent to identify and resolve construction-related challenges and obstacles in a timely and efficient manner.
* Exercise sound judgement and decision-making skills to ensure project objectives are achieved effectively.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred).
* Previous experience in the construction industry, preferably in a hands-on role.
* Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Basic understanding of construction safety regulations and practices.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software is a plus.
